Summary:
Sun Forest Factory has announced the mass production of its 10W and 225W flexible perovskite solar panels. Having obtained TUV certification, the company has now officially commenced sales of these panel models. In a separate development, Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc. and two other companies will initiate a joint verification project to test the performance and installation methods of perovskite solar cells in cold regions. This project aims to understand their power generation characteristics in cold climates, acquire specialized knowledge regarding installation methods, and promote the wider adoption of perovskite solar cells.

Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc., EneCoat Technologies Co., Ltd., and Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Ltd. (HEPCO) have announced the signing of an agreement for a joint verification project utilizing perovskite solar cells and have commenced the project.
This verification project will involve laboratory testing using a constant temperature and humidity chamber, along with a one-year field test at a facility that closely replicates real-world usage conditions. The goal is to verify the durability and power generation characteristics of perovskite solar cells in low-temperature environments, where data is currently scarce. Through these tests, the companies aim to establish installation and management methods suitable for snowy and cold regions.
Specifically, from August to November 2025, laboratory tests will be conducted using HEPCO's constant temperature and humidity chamber to examine the power generation characteristics of perovskite solar cells in low-temperature environments (approximately -25°C). Subsequently, from November 2025 to October 2026, perovskite solar cells will be installed on the windows and exterior walls of experimental houses at the Hokkaido Electric Power Research Institute, and the results will be verified.

Through this joint verification project, the three companies aim to understand power generation characteristics in cold regions, acquire specialized knowledge on installation methods, and promote the widespread adoption of perovskite solar cells. Mitsubishi HC Capital is responsible for project coordination, the procurement and maintenance of the perovskite solar cells and storage batteries, and economic analysis. EneCoat Technologies is responsible for the development and manufacturing of the perovskite solar cells. Hokkaido Electric Power Company is responsible for providing the verification project facilities, carrying out the installation work, and collecting and analyzing the test data.
